The Andhra and Telangana matching system — a Dasa Porutham count with three mandatory matches.
Check a match — free →Telugu marriage matching (జాతక పొంతన) uses a Dasa Porutham system. In juno.date's engine it is scored out of eleven. Like its southern neighbours, the Telugu system compares two birth stars across a set of poruthams that each test a different dimension of the pairing — temperament, longevity, health, progeny and family harmony — and produces a verdict from that count.
Telugu practice belongs to the same South-Indian porutham lineage as the Tamil system, so much of the underlying logic will feel familiar. What differs is the labelling and the exact weighting: the poruthams are named in Telugu — దిన (Dina), గణ (Gana), యోని (Yoni), రాశి (Rasi), రజ్జు (Rajju), నాడి (Nadi) and the rest — and a slightly different weighting is applied to the count. Because the lineage is shared, a couple's result under the Telugu Dasa Porutham will often move in the same direction as their Tamil porutham verdict, even when the two totals are not identical. Reading them together tends to be more informative than reading either alone.
The out-of-eleven total is best read as a summary rather than a final word. Two matches with the same number can carry very different meaning depending on which poruthams passed and which failed — a strong count that rests on the minor poruthams is not the same as one built on the mandatory ones. That is why juno.date lays out the individual poruthams rather than reporting only the headline number, and shows the Telugu result next to the other regional systems so you can see where they agree and where they diverge.
Three poruthams are treated as mandatory in Telugu practice: Nadi, Rasi (Bhakoot) and Rajju. If these fail, the match is generally rejected regardless of how well the remaining poruthams agree. Nadi guards health and progeny, Rasi/Bhakoot governs the couple's mutual prosperity and standing, and Rajju bears on the longevity of the bond. Because these three can override an otherwise strong count, juno.date reports them plainly rather than folding them into a single total.
| Porutham | Status |
|---|---|
| Nadi (నాడి) | Mandatory — health and progeny |
| Rasi / Bhakoot (రాశి) | Mandatory — prosperity and standing |
| Rajju (రజ్జు) | Mandatory — longevity of the bond |
